We had to say goodbye to Clarisse today. What a sad day. I got her when I was 22 years old. And she has been through so many wonderful milestones. We love you Clarisse! And we will miss so many things about you! Thank you for being such a good kitty and special, caring companion for so many years!
So we have cats that like to clmb on roofs. For perspective - this picture was taken from within my bedroom, on the second floor of our house. Miss Penny has greeted me, from outside the bedroom window, every day this week. She jumps up two different levels from our back patio. Then she walks up the back roof and over to the front side of the house and paces back and forth our bedroom window - hoping to be let in. It's hilarious.
And yes, I know, we're weird cat people.
It's been a bit of a gloomy weekend. The weather has been cool and fall-like, which is very nice. Though this Mommy has had a sad kitty-aching heart. We lost our big black cat, Digit.
Digit has always been a different cat from the rest. When we got him eleven years ago, he showed signs of fear and lack of trust. And really until his last day, he only really trusted me.
He had a lot of quirkiness - his polydactyl paws, his scratchy meow, his head-butting for attention and his ability to always sneak in and steal snacks from our other cats.
Quirkiness and all - I feel sad - and I will miss my big black, Didgey Man, aka "Mr. Romance".
Cheekers and I spent some time this morning watching the reality version of Tom and Jerry. Though in this case, it was Penny and Jerry. Our little hunter cat Penny found herself a mouse this morning - and enjoyed cornering it, chasing it, cornering it again, chasing it again - and on. Finally, unfortunately, I think she lost it. Darn Penny. I have never seen a mouse since living down here in Texas. I can only hope that Penny gave it a good scare - and it stays far away from our house! It was an entertaining show while it lasted.
Our sixteen year old princess is starting to show her age....but we love her dearly!
