Pool Crowns

The girls started Cinderella camp this week. There will be more on that later.... It was a tiring morning of camp. So after a much needed rest this afternoon, we hit the pool to cool off from our 100+ day. A new pool favorite is making pool crowns. Ahh, I love how trends with kids continue generation after generation!

Sing-Along

I spent most of my afternoon making cookie dough. Thank goodness I have two girls that are exceptional at self-entertaining. From reading, to playing with dolls to singing, the afternoon zoomed right along...and during the process I got some entertainment to listen to from the kitchen. 

Today We...

Today we stayed cool and mainly stayed inside. It's hard to believe that it's hotter in Illinois than it is in Texas in July....but it's true. So far our vacation up north has hardly been a relief from the heat. 

The girls woke up and did their usual helping Papa water the plants and flowers outside. Vanna the van broke down today. So we had to get her a new battery and mess with that on this scorcher of a day. The girls also got to spend some afternoon time with Papa and watched a movie while Mommy and the female family members went to see Magic Mike (I could have skipped that movie, to be honest). Tonight we went out for Mexican food....and I miss my Mexican food from home for sure. :)  And that was our day. 

There will be a blog break for the next couple days as this Mommy is headed to Chicago to visit some girlfriends! An unexpected Girl Trip surfaced, and I am excited. My girls will get quality family time for a few days....and be even more spoiled - if that's possible.

What You Wore

Photo challenge - Day 2 - What you wore today. What didn't we wear today?? It has been a beyond busy day. We woke up at 5:00 a.m. for Sydney's first swim meet. We got home at 12:30 - enough time to shower and rest briefly before leaving the house for Sydney's dance recital. After sneaking out of that early to arrive back home to host some great friends for a pool/cook-out. It's been a FULL day. 

Here's a picture of the girls and me post-recital. We wore many outfits today. This was our best one.
