Greetings! Welcome to my blog. I am Melissa. I am a wife, a care giver to my cats and one dog, a photographer (just for fun), a party planner, a experimental chef, a house cleaner (more like straighten’er), an organizer, a lister (one who obsesses with making lists), a lefty, a foodie, a closet opera singer, a travel lover, a magazine reader and a beach day-dreamer. I am also a decadent cookie baker extraordinaire and the owner of Sydalie's Cookies.
These are a few of my favorite things… a hot shower, nachos (and most any Mexican food for that matter), celebrity gossip, award shows, Saturday Night Live, New York City, the color yellow, reading magazines, squirrels, a good workout, The Far Side, being surprised, an organized house (it’s a work in progress), Target, watching tennis, a good laugh, my birthday and Reese’s Peanut Butter cups (though I prefer the Reese’s Egg at Easter best).
I detest clutter, clowns, hair or anything dirty sitting in the sink, being sticky and the smell of burnt popcorn.
I decided to start this blog (six years ago) after wasting a lot of time trying to figure out why I should start a blog. I have a degree in creative writing and have done practically nothing with it. I spent too much time in the corporate cube and needed a place to break free.
At the moment my writing influences are my daughters. Beyond being a mom, I love the other roles they allow me to play – teacher, playmate, caregiver, guide.
My wish for this outlet is that each day my ideas, inspirations, photographs and creations continue to flourish. I hope you’ll join me and comment along the way.
Cheers!
