"OK Sydney, let's work on our numbers," says Mommy.
"OK, Mommy," says Sydney.
"Alright, let's start easy and count to ten. Mommy will point to our new number board we made," Mommy says as she points to the easel that has the numbers one to one-hundred written in purple crayon.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten" Sydney says with enthusiasm as Mommy moves the magic star wand along the written numbers on the easel.
"Great Syd! OK, now what's this number?" Mommy asks as she moves the wand over the number twelve.
"Umm, eight?" Sydney says with a smirk.
"Eight? Do you think that's the number eight?" Mommy asks.
"Umm, yep," Sydney responds.
"Why do you think that would be eight if this number over here, that you already said, is the number eight." Mommy asks as she points to the number eight that was already said.
"I don't know. It just is," Sydney says convincingly.
"Sydney are you being funny?" Mommy inquires.
"Yes. Do you think I'm funny?" Sydney says.
"Do you think it's a good idea to be funny when we're trying to learn new things." Mommy wonders.
"Yes. I think it's funny." Sydney stands her ground.
"Why? Do you want to be funny?" Mommy asks.
"Because being funny makes people laugh," Sydney explains.
"Ohh, and you like to make people laugh," says Mommy.
"Yes, it means they're happy," Sydney says softly as she walks around to sit on Mommy's lap.
"Oh, I see. Hmmm, well maybe you'll grow up and be a comedian?" Mommy says hugging Sydney.
"Yeah, I'm going to be a comedian." Sydney smiles.
