The girls have been getting some golf lessons this week from Papa! So far, no major injuries. There has been a bit of swinging like a Louisville is in their hands....but technique is improving.

 
 

Fields of Gold and Green

Growing up in the mid-west, I know the word "pretty" was never a word I used to describe my home. Flat and fields of corn and beans and miles away from ocean and mountains - not a scenic wonder in my mind at the time.

Whether it took me to move away or it took me to grow older and appreciate the little things more - I don't know. However last night I was out for a drive in the country, and I only wished I'd had my better camera with me to capture the beauty that surrounded me on both sides of the road on a gorgeous, weather summer night in the heartland.

  

Puppy Love

Daddio would just LOVE for us to bring home one of these puppies....but it ain't gonna happen (maybe someday)! But they sure are sweet! Our friends just had nine new puppies enter the world. They are rhodesian ridgebacks. They grow up to be quite big - but start off itty bitty!! See photos from the puppy love session today.

Heat Relief - NOT!

I think we brought the Texas heat with us......cuz that's sure what it felt like today. It was upper 90's here in central Illinois with a heat index of the 100s.  I ran yesterday, and I ran today - and neither were the pleasant experiences I was hoping for.

Other than that, our visit is going well so far. Today was a pool day. We joined some friends to play at the pool. In the afternoon, Grammy took Sydney and Cheeks to play with some friends while Mommy got in a movie with my aunt and grandma. We saw Horrible Bosses. It was just OK.

The girls are now coloring and after a day of constant activity, I bet they are going to welcome their beds tonight.

Hopefully tomorrow will be cooler.

Sugar Creek Art Fair

The girls and I landed in Illinois yesterday. It was another great round of traveling. My girls love airplane rides and airports and all that's involved in the process.

We joined some family out for dinner last night. Today we were out and about early to an art festival in town. The girls, Grammy, Papa, and Great-Grandma and I made our rounds - corn dogs, music, dancing, face painting, snow-cones = two wiped out girls already.

The girls are taking much needed naps now before we're off again for another family outing - this time, pizza!
