Since being about 18 months old, Sydney has had one special stuffed animal, her black "Kitty". Kitty has made her way into this blog many times. Sydney was always very into stuffed animals as a baby. From the get-go, she loved her animals. We went through a few animals that we thought would be the "special" one; but Black Kitty finally made the cut and has been around ever since.
I had hoped Cheekers would be the same way with animals, but they've never really been her things. She would just play with stuff, baby toys. She wasn't into dolls or animals or anything special...until Lainy Lulu came around.
Lainy Lulu is a stuffed kitty that Sydney got from her great-great aunt for Christmas. Because Sydney already had a place in her heart for one kitty, Lainy Lulu wasn't really noticed much...by Sydney. Cheekers however has fallen in love. Cheekers and this kitty have formed a very special little bond. Cheeks will hug her, kiss her, roll on the floor with her, slobber her all up! It is so very sweet to watch.
The irony to my girls and their cats is the choices they have made. Kitty is a very petite little stuffed kitty. She's black and white with a pink nose and sits in Sydney's hands very comfortably. Lainly Lulu is orange, striped and practically the same size as Cheekers. Yes, my older child likes the tiny kitten, and my baby likes the monster sized cat. And yet another example of their differences.
